HORRIFIC CONDITIONS IN LOCAL PET STORE...

peterfromme May 17, 2003 06:26 PM

Hi,

Just the other day I stopped by my local reptile shop. I haven't been there in several months and thought I would just check it out. The shop usually has a noticeable stink to it and and is rather filthy.

I was looking around I saw a VERY disgraceful sight. They put a 5 foot columbian boa in a enclosure that was 20X24 inches! To make things even worse they also had a 2 foot burmese python in the SAME enclosure. The poor columbian had to coil its body on top of itself to fit.

They also had a ball python, which had a slight bulge around it's mouth, which appeared a little white. I'm not an expert, but the first thing that came to my mind was "mouth rot." They also had a couple baby columbians sharing the same enclosure with the ball python and one columbian had a noticeable bulge in the mouth.

I can not believe that people can get away with crap like that...

They won't get away with it if you report them. Do the right thing. These poor unfortunate animals are obviously in need of representation. You CAN help!

There is a store like that around here. The authorities never do anything about it because they think Reptiles are expendable it seems. i hate that guy.
