...It had been back in college when I last cruised Whitewater Rd. It was nice to finally be back...even if we were skunked as usual! I noticed the exotic Sahara mustard in the headlights along the road edge...but was horrified the next AM to see the extent of the invasion...golden hills as far as one can see...

The inevitable ignition occurs & presto....the desert flora dies...& w/it..its ability to sustain its herptofauna...eventually, all we'll have left is those obscene windmills towering over a broken land...
Those that cruise this rd regularly (or need a good thesis project) should keep field notes documenting dates/times & snakes per hr or mile, as the numbers will likely plummet in the near future.
