bobhansen Aug 06, 2005 09:29 AM

I thought some of you might like to check out some of the variation from within a single population of mexicana in San Luis Potosi. Enjoy!

Bob,
That is awesome!
The variation of these within a single locale is very facinating.
What is it with Mexicana that allows them to have such variable offspring/looks? I wonder if it is for some sort of survival purpose? Mimicry of some sort?
I noticed one (#4) has Greeri-like saddles, and I love the brownish ones as well as that dark phased one....
Thanks for sharing the pics Bob...Keep them coming if you have more,

...the nice brown in my '04 male mexicana exibited in great new field shots. Photo #1 is exactly how his brown ground color is developing. It's great to finally see fresh photos of wild examples. Photos like this are quite rare and VERY much appreciated.

Thanks so much Bob, I envy you and all of your good friends who are able to experience all of this in the field. What interesting and exciting work it must be.....

Incredible pics of the mex mex's in the field.
It's great to see them in their natural habitat.
Thanks for sharing the awesome pics.

Please post more of your findings from there!

that little light patch in a couple of those wild ones on the neuchal patch/stripe. That brown background in those first few IS outrageous too. Almost makes me want to start a new project.
