Beardie and carrots..

drunkmike Aug 06, 2005 10:03 AM

I have a female that has just laid a clutch of eggs a few weeks ago so I have been giving here any/everything she wans to fatten her back up.. I recently noticed that she has taken a liking to carrots.. and I mean to the point that if I mix them up with some greens, she will physically pickup the greens and move them to get to the carrots! I have never seen anything bad about feeding these, but when she poops there are orange carrot pieces like she didnt digest them that much and it smells like death! Is this ok for her or what? I mean she poops 2 maybe 3 times a day so I'm assuming she is healthy and she just doesnt give enough time for digestion or something.. Ideas? Thanks all!

Carrots are fine in small quantities but since she is eating carrots above everything else, I would not put carrots in her salad every day. She needs to eat a variety of greens to get her strength up and remain healthy. Too much carrots can cause diarrhia as well.
