Green anole: turns brown during the day, back to green overnight

bland Aug 06, 2005 11:04 AM

Hey, first of all thank you for all of the great info on this board. This is my first reptile: a green anole. I got him on 8/02/05. When he arrived, the terrarium (10g tank) was 85 deg F with basking spot around 95F using incandescent light. After a few hours, he turned brown and hid under some moss. I turned off the heat light, and misted more to bring up humidity. (conditions like the area he was hiding in) The temp is now 80F, humidity is 70-80%. He now basks at the top of his branch. He eats and drinks but here is the issue: In the morning, he is green. He turns brown quickly after the terrarium light (18" reptiglo 5.0) is turned on. Any ideas on what's causing the daytime stress?

Thanks again,
Bland
