Female Eyes closed

lbk4680 Aug 06, 2005 11:23 AM

Hi,

one of my female adult gecko's eyes have been closed for a few days, just realised it. It was put together with a male during the mating season a few weeks ago, could it be a result of fights? There are no scratches on her head. Anybody with similar situation before?

Thanks

i've never run into this problem with my leo, but if it was a result of fighting or not she needs to get to the vet before she gets an eye infection, or if shes already got one it needs to be fixed before it causes her sight problems.

Sometimes leos will close their eyes and always look tired when they are dehydrated. Try giving her some pedialyte. Here's a recipe:

1 quart of water
2-4 teaspoons of sugar (or 1-2 teaspoons of fructose)
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

You can half it it you want.
