Collared Lizard BREEDING......

ZippoBSquared Jul 16, 2003 07:29 PM

Hi, First of all, is there any way to be sure of a collareds sex without taking it to a vet?

And second of all, do I have to induce hibernation before try to get the lizards to breed? Or will they breed on their own?

Is hibernation actually good for the lizards?

Is hibernation needed for the lizards?

Thanks ZippoBSquared

Well if you take a picture of it, someone here can tell you & be pretty darned sure. You can usually tell by their colours. If that doesn't work you can take a picture of its underside.

They usually need to hibernate to breed but sometimes they will do it on their own.

Yeppers.

>>Is hibernation needed for the lizards?

Not unless you want to breed them.
