Black Kingsnakes

How many of you are working with this underappreciated kingsnake? I really need to get down to KY and stomp around looking for these guys.

I own 41 acres of brush and trees in Fleming Co. KY, but according to this great website I found it looks like that area may be devoid of kings. If I'm looking at the map correctly.

Phil Peak is the "locale" expert around here on nigras, maybe he will answer your post.

Mike, I have herped in most places in the state of Ky but I don't think I have ever visited Fleming co. If I'm not mistaken though it in that area where the knobs meets the bluegrass region? Sorry I couldn't be of more help on this one. I have seen kings just south of there in Menifee, Powell and Estill counties though so they are at least close to that area if not there. Phil

Hi Mike,
I have Alabama locale as well as Kentucky locale Eastern Black Kings. Will be picking up more KY locales soon. They are one of my favorite types of kings.
I have been looking for other locales (Ohio, West Virginia) but it seems that there are not many working with the Eastern Blacks. Great snakes.
Hatched out eight Alabama Eastern Black Kings just recently.
Brad
