Yellow vs green anaconda

reptileforest Aug 06, 2005 10:56 PM

Hey people, thanks for the previous information, I appreciate it. What do you guys think as far as temperment goes, will a female anaconda show more aggression than the male? How about yellow vs green condas? I have heard that yellow anacondas are far less aggressive then the greens.

PS: The reptariums believe it or not folks are a great savings on housing snakes. Not only does it work for small lizards, it will also work for african species of snakes, since they dont require lots of humidity (reptariums are netted, water evaporates like crazy). Also heat escapes real fast so you need a morre powerful wattage on the heat bulb. But a 260 gallon reptarium is only 80 bucks, perfect to house small arboreal to medium sized snakes.I have a 6 foot artificial tree built inside it. Trust me it is sturdy and holds well. My ball python nor the boa even attempt to break out. Only a lizard like a monitor will slash through it like nightmare on elm street.

As far as temperment goes, any anaconda can have a bad one in my opinion. I've noticed Yellows tend to calm down a little faster than Greens, but either way, it really just depends on the snake itself.
Well personally, I would spend the money on my snake to have a good life in my care and a good display for my viewing pleasure. I don't know if you know this or not, but every snake you are housing and thinking about housing are high humidity snakes, so you kind of need the heat to stay in and you need the humidity to hold as well, which is probably pretty hard to do with netting. I'm not trying bust your butt though, just think about housing the snakes properly and seperately, also, keep the yellow or green seperated for sure.
