Plants other than pothos??

Misskiwi67 Aug 06, 2005 11:54 PM

I was wondering if anyone uses anything other than the usual pothos plants for their vivaria. The ivy plants I picked out aren't doing very well. I think its too damp for them.

I was hoping for something with smaller leaves than a pothos so it wouldn't make the tank look quite so small. I do have a pothos that I can make cuttings from, but I think it would look out of place in my tank.

Check out the vivariums that black jungle has posted on their website. That will give you a good idea for the types of plants that are usuable for caging. Don't limit yourself either. get creative.

Hi!
I have both creeping fig and Selaginella in my frog terraria that grow like gangbuster. The creeping fig has penny-sized leaves. The Selaginella is almost like a moss, but it runs along the substrate and makes a thick fluffy carpet. I can send cuttings if you need.

I used about twelve in our Up tank.
everything from selaginella, crepping begonia, creeping peperomia and ferns! lot's of creeping as well as climbing ferns.
i've been using ficus benjamin trees along with one manzanita to
see which they prefer. i've also had great success in keeping the cissus plants growing down the back wall and such.
stop by my site or email me for a few ideas.
plants listed here that could be used
