MY BD I GOT ALMOST 2 WEEKS AGO I THOUGHT WAS DOING BETTER.AFTER ABOUT THE 4TH DAY I NOTICED HIS LEGS TWITCHING I KNOW THATS A DEFECINCY,I GAVE HIM MORE FREQUENT SUPPLEMENTS.I USE REPTOCAL,HE EXCLUSLIVLY EATS CRICKETS.HE WAS DOING BETTER UNTIL I NOTICED YESTERDAY IT STARTED AGAIN,HIS TEMP IS AT 105 HOT SIDE ,84 COOL SIDE,SINCE I HAD HIM HE WOULD EAT 4-6 CRICKETS A DAY,I TRIED TO FEED HIM TODAY WITH TWEEZERS HE WOULDNT GO FOR IT,I WONDER IF IT WAS A PREDISPOSED COND. WHEN I BOUGHT HIM AT THE PET STORE?
IS IT TOO LATE OR SHOULD I GOTO THE VET FOR MY 7 INCHER,HE JUST RECENTLY SHED SO I THOGHT HE WAS DOING BETTER ANY HELPFUL ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

Could be from impaction, has he been pooping regularly? Do you have a UVB bulb as well? If he hasn't been pooping, try a soak in luke warm water for 10-20 minutes to get him to poop.

yes i have both uva and uvb,he poops regular,about once a day .he is now on newspaper for about a week,he eats large crickets,and he is a 7 incher,will it help to switch to smaller crickets,or should i just wait it out? he went to the bathroom this morning it looked normal. he looks better,the twitching almost stopped completly,just a little wiggle on his hind toes,but barley noticable.

Yes....switch to small crickets!!! The twitching was probably caused because you fed him crickets that were too large. Large crickets can become impacted, blocking the spine, resulting in hind leg paralysis or even death. You're lucky he passed them. Feed him small crickets only, never feed anything bigger than the space between his eyes. The exception being soft bodied foods, like silkworms.

No problem. In the future, if you can't find small crickets, you can chop the larger ones into smaller pieces. This is the best place I've found for silkworms. I've been ordering from them for a while, and have never had a problem. I'd recommend getting the juvi size, and as your dragon gets a little bigger you can switch to sub-adult. I believe they have a juvi trial kit with 100 worms and some chow. I keep mine in an uncovered rubbermaid tub on paper towels with some egg crate. I grate the chow finely over the worms 1-2x a day, depending on how busy I am. Make sure they eat all the food within a half hour. The food will mold and cause bacterial problems. I keep them at about 75 degrees.
