Was just presented with a Desert Whipsnake (3' male). Anyone have experience with these?

Wild caught? A good hiding place and a deep substrate, will help him stay relaxed. If he's wild caught it may be a while before he eats.

Pet shop rescue-so probably wild caught. The shop owner could not get him to eat, so gave him to me as I am known for taking on (rescuing)prob animals. Since I am in Fla release is out of the question. Set him up on aspen mulch and with heat. I also force fed a pinkie as it was very thin (even for one of those.

Big problem is we do not obviously have the native lizards that they eat. Will try brown anoles once his weight is more normal.

Good luck, they are hard to acclimate, even harder when someone else has already screwed it up.
