DH took a lot of measurements Friday night, counted the number of extra bricks we have leftover from the fence building & found that we'll only need to buy another 10 or so bricks.
He's got the plans laid out on paper now for the new box turtle pen & why I am so thrilled is because it's going to turn out to be 30x54 feet, it's going to be huge.
Huge enough that since the sulcata won't be able to get into it, I can plant rose bushes for her, honeysuckle that I can harvest later for her without her demolishing it before it grows.
Now if he'll just get started for real before winter..

WOOHOO!!! That sounds awesome ratz! Take pics while its being made and when its done. Are they all gonna go in, or just charity and shell E, or just the girls or . . ?

We kicked around the idea of having a movable partician in the pen then decided naaaa we'll permanently fix things under the front gate so that turtles can't walk under it & let Hobo have the run of the yard. Females only in the pen, Hobo can be the roaming man he likes to be.
We've already cut down his roaming area to a third of what it once was by making him stay here rather than roam the neighborhood where he can be dog chewed, eaten, or run over so let's not cut it down any further.
Shell E, Charity, Janie will have the pen when it's built. You wonder will others be allowed in? lol
Mel you know if any needy ones appear, or if Hope ever shows up, there'll be plenty of room for more.
