Uhh Zee,...take a look at this one - BTW, are you the Show Me Boy?

This is the female Hillson's creaming himself over; she's a female that I got in '01 from Enge or someone else at the Tampa show. I remember the person saying "don't feed it too much, it's only a hatchling and it's only had one meal" - the snake was the biggest hatch kingsnake I'd ever seen (15-17" maybe) and had totally red banding for the first 15 months or so. In four years she's about 57" and is a total lawn mower of a snake - super agressive feeder and a veteran of at least 8 snake battles, to include watersnakes, ratsnakes - a larger one than her too - pygmies, a timber rattler, a cottonmouths, and a copperhead (all of them envenomated her). She hasn't eaten another snake in 2 years though and outside of her I haven't fed my other kings snakes in over 5 years - just too cruel IMO...too violent too watch.

Here's the kicker, she came from south-central Georgia OR north-central Florida (take your pick, it's very similar habitat); not only that, I'm very familiar with Echols Co, GA because I've done plenty of rare plant surveys in that part of state - my good friend has a farm in Brooks Co, so I'd go crash there and then go out and hunt for rare plants. It's not far from Tally as it is, anyway.

BTW, are you the one originally from MO? I ask because I may be moving back there VERY soon, and I've got to talk to Hillson about it since he wants her for the 8-9 months he needs to breed her.

John, please tell me you have a belly shot of her.

I'm hoping that you and Hillson can produce some outstanding offspring from that female and his brute. Good luck.

Bob,

I do have a belly shot, but it's an old one - I'll try to get another in a day or so. I call her Bonkers for a reason...I just tried to get a belly shot of her - 3 days after her shed and before I feed her tonight! It's mostly all black with a few areas where the cream banding enters into the venter, but it's 90% black with long stretches of nothing but black.

Oh, the hand. I tried to get this crazy as# snake out of her cage to get your shot, she wrapped me in chinese handcuffs, wouldn't let go (my hands were starting to turn purple), so I had to resort to my fool-proof method when I'm pissed off - by placing her near my big GA Boy and she lets go pretty quick. But this time he struck like lightening and grabbed her head/neck from the side and was chewing hard by the time I got them to the tub where the warm water was running...she voided everywhere and now all my kings are roaming around like its "High Noon" or something...ready to do some snake slingin'

She's got a little blood from a bite on her neck, but she's otherwise OK. I had his body in one hand so he couldn't wrap her but if I hadn't, she would have been in serious trouble even after 20 seconds or so with that beast wrapping her. She's nuts, plain and simple.

Peace.

I think its in the air my snakes have been acting a little restless as of late. I thought, from her side pattern that she might have a black belly. Just one more piece to the puzzle.

Very nice John! BUT. . .I'm NOT from MO.!!! I'm from Cali originally, but have lived in about 6 other states thanks to the military, lol! And yes I have lived in MO. for a little while too.
That's a good sized girl there! Hope she doesn't snack on Keith's male next spring, LOL!!!!!!!
