I would say you have two fine specimens there. They should make a nice breeding pair. Who did you get them from?

Russ

one from home grown herps and the other was from shannon brown.

That second one is killer...I guess that is the one from Shannon?
The first one isn't too shabby itself.
Which one is the female?
Great looking thayeri Russ D.
They should produce some screamers for you. Next year? or 2007?

Yes the buckskin-orange one came from shannon and is an 03 female. she is about 18" what is the min breeding size for females? I need to get my hands on some more of these guys but can afford it all(LOL). Russ

I breed my females at 30 inches and 300 grams....The males can breed at 18 months. I hear if they are trying to breed they are ready.....
I know what you mean about wanting more. I started with a pair in 1999 and now have around 30 of them.....LOL
You can never get all the colors and patterns....They are just too variable.
Great snakes!!!

Thanks for the info john. the greenish one was sold as a 04 male and is only about 11" long. the other two I have are about 18-19" long and it looks by there tails I got a pair. (fingers crossed).Do you think there is a difference in the tails? looks like I got another year or two to go before I breed them. the 04 male was so small when I got him (about 7". You guys must only pop these guy and no probeing when sexing hatchlings?
Thanks a bunch. Russ

I pop all of my hatchlings....The males are obvious...I later probe the "females" to make sure they are not males. I do this only after they have shed a second time and are nice and healthy.

I thought that in one post you pictured a thayeri labelled a 2003 male. If it was hatched in 2003 and it is a male it should breed for you in 2006. Unless it is REAL small. If it is 24 inches it is good to go from my experiences.....

Good luck Russ,

That male should be able to breed next spring.....
Is that from Home Grown Herps as well? if not where?
They all look great Russ...Gotta love thayeri.

That second one is hideous. Send me an email and I'll let you know how to dispose of it. ( I've got an empty box)
