Misting the incubator medium with eggs?

sacredpurr Aug 07, 2005 04:22 PM

OK I have been reading the books and it talks about if the medium in the incubator gets too dry that you should mist lightly. Some Books say daily others say twice weekly. But it also talks about Not getting the eggs wet. My question is: How can I mist the medium without misting the eggs? My last batch of eggs became to dry and the incubator tempature was reading wrong so I lost them all. I want to do it right this time. Please help? Thanks

turn the spray bottle off mist into spray and lightly spray around the eggs.

i been breading dragons for years, My method is good i have a very positive hatch rate. I keep my incubator at 81 degrees and put the eggs in a tupperware container with moist vermiculite, and close the lid, i usaully open it once every few days to breath and the moisture level stays perfect at 75-80%. if you need to add moisture just pour some water in the corner of the container and that should raise the moisture level. good luck
