diggy415 Aug 07, 2005 04:56 PM

Well these are a plenty around here and got this one sneaking into my garage and it was thirsty, it will stay in a cage until i am done weed eating and spraying around here. Last time i got one, it didn't eat and I let it go. Anyone have luck with wild caughts eating for them??

Almost all of the pits I've keep over the years have eaten well whether they were wild caught or captive bred. Just give it a hiding box & some quiet time in the dark.

Is that a pacific gopher? Where was it found (what general area)?

From what I've read young WC Gophers make good little captives and tame down quickly. Rocko, the P. catenifer (sp?) I keep is WC and eats like a hog, still somewhat nervous, but once in hand is a joy to handle. I got him around the Sepulveda flood basin area in the San Fernando Valley in CA. Great snake!

I found a sonoran gopher sneaking into my mouse room last year. It eats like a pig. It was only about 25 inches. Less than a year later he's about 45 inches. I'm just wondering how big this sucker is going to get. Very cool snake. I really like it.

Mine finally ate FT I was so thrilled. Hopefully it won't mind eating infront of me but thats not the case so far. I have to leave it alone for a job well done. What ever works.
