Baby tree frogs and feeding...

kdollva Aug 07, 2005 07:59 PM

I had 6 tadpoles, and all but one is now a frog and is definitly gray/green tree frogs. I fed them pin head crickets, but they dont seem to take to them. Someone suggested to me i get wingless fruitflies. Can someone let me know if there is a store on line i can order from. My local pet store doesnt carry them.

Thank you!

Kerri

Petco has them if you have one of those in your area. Check out the feeders section in the classifieds forum on this site. good Luck.

phoenix worms are my new favorite thing for baby frogs and turtles.. they look like tiny waxworms and are supposed to be very high in calcium... my clown treefrogs love them and they are around the size of baby green treefrogs..

i havent ever had problems with young frogs eating.. are you feeding them at night? the best way (IMO) to go about this is put pinhead or 2 week old crickets in a deli cup in the tank before you turn out the lights ... the crickets cant hide from the frogs and you can tell whether they are eating them or not..

You can buy them at ebay.com for about $10 shipped 32oz container and you can order them from reptilefood.com also are you sure you tried small enough crickets. I ordered 1/8 crickets from reptilefood.com and mine eat them great. I have grey tree frogs raised from tadpoles and they are 1 week old now and eating fruit flies and 1/8 crickets. Good luck.
