You know, you look in on your eggs every day or so and you see what you'd expect...
Normal Ruthveni from normal adults....

but then something surprises you....

Now, I have been breeding the same pair of normal Ruthven's for the past 5 years. Not once has an albino popped out from their eggs...
Of course their clutches have been small each year, from 4-8, so I guess the odds were close each time.
This year my female laid 6 eggs and 1 came out albino.
To be honest, I had always thought they were just "normals" and had even planned on sending a few to others who wanted them.
I am glad it happened to me before I did send any off now.
I guess if it was 1980 then it'd be a much cooler thing, but you know what? Now I kinda like him.
