Shipping question....weather related.......

bthacker Aug 07, 2005 08:58 PM

I have sold a few Boas and I am definitely worried about shipping in this hot weather. I would be shipping out of the Sacramento area and it is in the triple digits here.

How do you ship in such extreme weather? The guys I sold the Boas to are okay with waiting to ship but it doesn't look like it's cooling down any. Would you guarantee live arrival in this weather? Any thoughts and assistance would be appreciated.

Hey Brett, if that is the snake you are shipping, just make sure you use Delta dash. Hopefully you are shipping to the east from there and you gain with the time change for gauranteed delivery if you use other means of shipping. I would say babies are easier than the big ones due to box size and air flow.

I would wait...unless Delta dash. Andy

No that isn't the one I am shipping, that was just my new EBV female. The ones I am shipping are all relatively small and FedEx shippable size. I was looking at your pics and noticed you received a sweet Boa from Matt C. How did he ship it to you? Delta or FedEx?

Well I'll tell you what...Matt made me a believer in those 1.5" thick walled styo coolers in a box...Yes they cost about $5 bucks but well worth it. He shipped on a hot day and when I opened the box the snake was nice and cool...It was perfect. Shipped UPS. I used the same box the following day the hottest day of the year, but we did have a cool down that night but it was still hot. I shipped 3 ...UPS to IL. and went from 5pm to 11am next day and they arrived perfect as well. Here is the link...

hope they let me do this...

Anyway...I will have them on hand for those special shippments. Andy
