Twitching BD

mcnugent Aug 08, 2005 02:15 AM

While my 6 inch BD was eating today, he chased down a cricket like usual, ate it, and then started twitching and having small spasms and one of his front feet was bent backwards, after about 10 seconds he stopped twitching, and his foot went back to normal. He seems to be fine now, but any idea what this could mean ?

Limb twitching can be a sign of a few different things. What is your supplementing routine? And what kind of access to UVB do you have? How close can the beardie get tot he UVB bulb and how old is the bulb? How long have you had the dragon from and what kind of care did he recieve before you had him?

Also...how big are the prey items you are feeding your lizard?

I've had my BD for about 2 weeks.
He has a UVB bulb and the UVA that he can get 3 inches away from if he climbs to the top of the plant- which he often does.
I put calcium stuff on about 3/4 of the crickets he eats and the crickets are all small, length from eye to eye or littler.
