powersun heat output

Charlie_A Aug 08, 2005 09:48 AM

I want to buy a powersun bulb for my rhinoceros iguana but im not sure which wattage to use. The basking spot is about 12-13 inches to where the bulb would be. At this distance what would be the temperature differance between the 100 watt and the 150 watt? Also is this a feasible daytime heat source? I have a 150 watt ceremic heat emitter at night.

Thanks,
Charlie

That is a difficult question to answer without looking at your entire set up and taking some temps with a temp gun. In general people prefer the 150 over the 100, due to the better uv output. You may want to take this question to the UVB forum on yahoo. Good luck.
