A little TAIL.................................

Actually a LOT of tail... this cute little devil just had his first shed. He's a Peru boa born here about 10 days ago.

.. the red and white on those boas is so great! I was thinking my web-mistress in Mexico could put some edit-magic on that and make it look like the American flag.. stars and stripes forever!

Of course, nothing (except perhaps Old Glory) lasts forever and red tails like this are no exception.. this snake will have a nice tail as an adult, but not quite this nice. (this is why we all buy and sell baby boas, I think).

Thanks all.

Beautiful Peru BCC Gus! They really are exceptional animals. What tagged you in the pic ? Bet that was fun!

.. that is a bite from a 3.5 meter Peru boa. I got that prize a couple of years back trying to photo some newborns.

MOM bit down HARD and let go.. no hissing or thrashing around.. just a serious BACK OFF. There was a matching set of marks on the other side of my arm.. the swelling and leaking is just starting to kick in.

Looks bad (and it did hurt) but nothing like a 10' plus retic would do (or a bull-dog)..

Thanks!
