roaches as in what kind of roaches? i have had a small colony of hissing cockroaches for a few years. they breed easy and act as a second organic garbage disposal. on top of that, they make good pets in themselves, no wings, mostly calm, and harmless. they are much jucier than crickets, and die alot less easy.
i feed them to my whites frogs when i see any that have just molted. they get all exited when i get out the tongs and hand feed them.
i also used to have a wonderfull water dragon that i would (among other things) feed juvinile hissing cockroaches. he could handle crunching up their hard shells, but with feeding them to any animal without much jaw power i think that its in your best interest to pick roaches that are young, or that have just molted, because the exoskeleton will be much softer. my water dragon liked them so much that he wouldent willingly eat crickets.
anyhow, if you can, i would feed (farm raised) roaches for a wider range in diet, but i would never feed roaches or crickets exclusivly.
