defensive urinating or weak bladder?

goregrind Aug 08, 2005 09:19 PM

earlier today i picked up my youngest bp to see how shes shedding and let her bottom half dangle and she peed all over.
a few minutes ago i was helping her shed by puting my fingers on the shed skin and letting her move, i felt lumps before her anus but ingnored them. when i finished and was putting her back in her tank she peed two solids and alot of stinky liquids all over my hand. this also was not the first time shes peed on me could she have a week blaader or is it defensive?

Not to sure if they do this defensively, but when it's that low in the body sometimes gravity just takes over. I have a Burm that does the same thing. I just don't handle her till she's elimininated LOL.

Pee happens - there is nothing wrong with your snake - However - YOU SHOULD NOT BE HANDLING YOUR SNAKE DURING THE SHED CYCLE - you are going to stress it out and create problems - probably why it peed on you - you pissed it off and it was returning the favor - next time leave it alone.

if you truely like to help your herps shed, maybe leopard or fat tailed geckos are a bettter herp for you, they like the help with the shed, and dont get hurt or stressed out by your desire to handle them
it realy isnt a good idea to help them shed, and i have noticced a few posts from you, and what seems to be a few stress related problems. my recomendation : leave them alone untill they are done with the shed cycle then handle them all you want.

Urinating? reptiles don't pee, their urates are solid chalky masses. Sounds more like he has diarrhia.
