Anything reptilian to see in Florida??

rml1973 Aug 09, 2005 08:09 AM

I'm visiting Florida (and the US) for the first time in a couple of weeks, and we're staying near DisneyWorld for two weeks. And no - we're NOT there when the ReptileExpo is at the 17th Bad timing on our part...

We'll offcourse do a tour in the Everglades, but we'll also like to see any other reptile-related things..

Any good zoo's ?
Or geckobreeders who show their stuff...??

I know there is a reptile farm called "Gator Land near Kissimee outside of Orlando. I understand there are some people who breed lizards and are located on the east coast near Cape Kennedy. If I can find any additional information I will let you know.

i just got back from orlando and went to gator land.it is a pretty cool place and for 10 dollars more you can get into a small area and feed the alligators by hand while youre in arms length of them.they are ones in the 5-7 foot range youre feeding it was pretty cool.they also have some other good animals.they have a nature walk in a march area where wild native animals abound such as anoles.i took a quick walk through and found numerous green and brown anoles,a few fiveline skinks, and a large banded water snake and theat was taking a pretty quick walk through.hope this helps you out.
