gulfcoast strain flame goini question

jeff_serrao Aug 09, 2005 09:46 AM

I have a pair and was curious is the flame morph was a simple recessive, co-dominant trait, or something else. I've never bred mine to a normal or seen a "het" or "super" flame offered for sale or pictured.

Just wondering if anyone knew. I'll see the McQuade's in Daytona in a few weeks anyway.

Are you talking about the GCR "Blaze phase" or just a high red goini?

If its the Blaze Phase I bred a male to a hypo brooksi and the babies came out normals. So that means the Blaze is NOT related to the hypo brooksi (like some suggested) and the Blaze is a reccessive trait. The Blaze did not improve the neonates and they looked like normal crossed goinixbrooksi that so many have bred.
It will take two to three years to see what the Double hets I have will produce.
