HELP NEEDED!!! Snakes dying.

James75 Aug 09, 2005 10:19 AM

I have had 3 big healthy females up and die on me this month. These were 3000 gram, 2002 CH females that were still feeding on rats and had no signs of being sick. When the first one died I just thought, man that sucks but didn't think of it. The second one I was out of town on a business trip and my wife just put it in the trash. This last one is at my vet now hopefully its just bad luck and not something going through my collection.

Any one have any ideals.

yo I am soooo sorry for your loss it must be very frustrating for you. do you know any of the factors?? I know you said they werent sick, but how long have you owned them, what were your temps in the room, has it been overly hot it was over 100 degrees in SC 2 weeks ago orrrr maybe the ac unit to high and got to cold,do you get their rodents from the same source, do they share an enclosure together, have you been to ANY pet stores that deal with boids that you may have handled directly or come in contact with in the last 3-6 months (very important factor) IBD can remain in an infected household/pet store for up to 6 months scary shizzle. have you introduced ANY new reptiles boids or anything into your collection having females that large makes me think that you were maybe trying a breeding project, what was the margin difference of time between their deaths, someone also had mentioned cryptosporidium a few months ago in the forums did they look like their stomach area was inflatedlike, many factors any more info you care to share could be very beneficial
