I thought some of you might enjoy this incredible fieldherping post by Bill Love. I'm still drooling over that fantastic exasperatum but there's also a gorgeous erebennus that regurged a pretty interesting meal.

I guess I set off one of Kingsnake's ridiculous censorship filters. Email me if you want the link at gila7150@earthlink.net
(I'm starting to remember why I took a hiatus from this place)

Dear gila, I found it, (we seem to hang in the same neighborhoods...). Do you know what species it is? I had one like it from the same area back in the '70's. Beside the apparent Crotalus basiliscus diet, they were toad eaters. Many of them available from a "wholesaler" down there had swollen tails, the result of repeated tick bite I am told. I remember the ventral being light colored, white in the gular area and the tails black.
After looking at it again I think it's probably rubidus. I'm not sure exactly where he found it but he was herping in southern Sonora. There are a few people on this forum that work with rubidus who would probably know for sure.
