What substrate do you guys use? I have checked all kinds of websites but can't seem to get anyone to share a care sheet with me!

But I also have 60 cresteds. I'd go broke if I have to buy bark or something.

Some people use newspaper but I'm not comfortable using that since that ink comes off so easily and especially with the spraying and the high humidity, I don't like the idea of the ink able to get on the geckos.

Used to use bed-a-beast, but it wouldn't stay moist. It dried w/in a few hours. Now I use this stuff called RainForest Bedding. Not sure if that is the exact name or not. It's good to grow plants in. Got it at petsmart for $8.99 a bag. Expensive, but it works. It's all a matter of preference.

Good luck!! Carrie

i use crushed walnut shell. i get it at the local feed store for around 6 bucks for 20 punds. Dirt cheap, easiest material to spot clean, but a little on the light side. My geckos eat crcikets from the trees, or baby food from the bowl, so theres not a problem with them digesting it. Plus it looks more natural compared to paper towels and newspaper.

the picture is of my crocodile geckos tank with walnut shell bedding. (called walnut holes)
