Jungle Corns...

xxcosthkngxx Aug 09, 2005 02:08 PM

Hi,

I have been wanting to breed jungle corns for the longest time and i have my albino cornsnake(Elaphe Guttata G.) and my banded California kingsnake (Lampropeltis Getulus Californiae). I wanted to know if anyone had some valuble worth reading information on this cross that can help me. Also if you have any websites that will help me then post those.
Has anyone done this cross before?? If so how and which was male and which was female??

i have never attempted this myself, as all it takes is a split second and it could be dooms day for your corn.
even though i would never consider this myself, i have read some material on the subject, and what i have found to be consistant is that the kingsnake MUST be the male.
the material i have read (sorri cant remember where) said that you must have a pair of kings and a female corn, you set the kings up for breeding and introduce them together, let the male get all worked up and frustrated trying to hunt down the king female, and then RIGHT before copulation occures(as in within 1cm of coming together) you take him out and quickly introduce him to the corn and hope for gods sake that he thinks its the same snake, cos if he realises it isnt, its corn snake fritter for tea!

Would you breed yourself with a pig or monkey? They share close to the same dna as us.Bluerosy can probably help you...Paul

i've actually heard that the king should be female. they said the male king can hurt a female corn.

yea....corns breed for 10 minutes or so and usually don't bite
(they do at times)

kings would breed here for 9 hours plus and the male would bite the whole time........

use male corn female king........

female king can hold the bigger eggs too.........

bigger eggs bigger babies

You are right. It is a myth that the male must be a king. I've also seen milksnake females bred by male corns.

try to stay with one snake per cage at all times....

it can be done with pair cages...

but milks can eat corns if they like........and do in the wild...

Hey genius I understand the point you were trying to make but it was a bad point at that. The fact that a corn snake and a kingsnake can mate its totally different that having to work in some genetics lab for decades to try and get human dna and monkey or pig dna together. The fact that those two snakes can mate shows that they are so closely related that somewhere in the recent past they had very common ancestors that then seperated and that they could still today mate in the wild if they came across each other and the kingsnake didnt eat the corn snake. So next try to make a wiser post.

Gargoyle420 Aug 09, 2005 08:25 PM

The hybrid forum is were the post belongs.According to South Park genetics you can have a snake with 3 asses also...Paul

msubigdawg Aug 09, 2005 09:42 PM

I believe it was 4 asses and he worked his way up to the 6 assed animals also. lol

jyohe Aug 10, 2005 08:23 AM

this forum is way over the three assed limit......think it is going for triple digit asses?.......

I am just one of them thank you......

don't they actually put pig DNA into human so the parts will fit into a human hhost for translants?......

.....oink oink..........squuuuueeeeeeeeel?.......

.........

better to have pig valves than plastic?.......

plastics go click click click everytime they close and keep you awake in a silent room.......

so I've heard..........(friend got valve job..he actually was given human doner parts....cadavor..he was told could go with one of the three choices)......

HO HUM!
What's interesting is the corn and the cal kings albino gene is allelic. Thats shows how closley retarded humans are.

As far as corns being pure. HA! They have been crossed with emoryi by breeders for generations and have been hybridizing in nature for centuries with blackrats, yellow rats and everglades ratsnakes.

So much for the pure corns.

Also if this is a hybrid then someone better move all the corns with cremesicle in them to the hybrid forum.

Gargoyle420 Aug 09, 2005 08:31 PM

np

jyohe Aug 09, 2005 09:14 PM

it can and has been done.........it is not as easy as you think.......I tried and they don't readily do this.....go ahead if you like but it may not ever get done by you....

.......this is a corn forum.....ask what you want.some people will piss and moan about it.and others will answer question no matter what.......

it is kinda freaky.yet if it was that wierd it wouldn't be possible

North American snakes will pretty much all inter breed...

all pines/gophers...milks...kings...corns...ratsnakes....will all interbreed

actually most mountain kings too......and probably molekings and all

lets' out the ovoviporous snakes though....cotalids ,agkistodons,thamnophis...........

.......good luck....don't complain if it won't happen...it is hard enough
