So I got my Texas Rat today...

hefte Aug 09, 2005 10:39 PM

and I was just wondering if there are any quirks or things I should know. I've kept snakes and herps my whole life so basic husbandry stuff I'm not really concerned with, but are they problem feeders, do they really like to climb, do they stress easily, that sort of stuff?. I was really surprised to see how active she was today after travelling 3000 miles. I'm excited for another fun snake, so any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.

Congrats on your new snake! I have a little girl a little older than the one youve got now and i love her. As far as the species goes they are very hardy animals, dont mind being handled (but you might, they can get pretty aggressive). Im actually trying to find a mate for mine so that i can breed here in a couple years. Good luck with that one! Heres one of mine at about the same age as yours.
