First I would like to say I respect your opinion on this matter and many breeders have their own opinion.
Second I didn't breed my albino she came to me from a breeder pregnant at only 25 grams. That's how I have two Albino hatchlings with no male het for Trepmer Albino.
I also respect Ron Tremper and his reputation, and believe he wouldn't collaborate on The Leopard Gecko Manual with Philippe de Vosjoli if he didn't believe what was in it. On page 40 under breeding it says, "Leopard geckos generally reach sexual maturity at a weight of around 35 grams. Many breeders grow their animals to about 40 grams. before they breed them." My females were all 35-40 grams before they were placed with my male.
Since you read all the fine print of their weight and everything else maybe you should have noticed that I also had to take them on a 1,000 mile trip with me, because no one would be home to feed them. What I didn't post on my site is all three of my females have not only laid a clutch during the 3.5 weeks we were gone and right after we got back, but they decided to get a little stressed out on the trip home and didn't eat for almost two weeks after we got back. Currently neither of my males are in the same tank as the females to give them a break and allow them to put their weight back on.
If the book is wrong then I guess I shouldn't trust these men that have some of the best reputations around the world. That's just my opinion.
