Hey, it's me with new photos from my three month old baby albino pacman frog. I'd like to know what sex it is to name it, so far all signs point to female. At this exact point he/she is estivating, but that makes sense now that i attached an under tank heating pad.
Whoever reads this and has a pacman frog please feel free to post your pics too! They are an amazing species of frogs.

nice pix! Here's one of mine. I call him Tubbs. I've had him just over 5 months. He's croaked a few times so I def know he's male. He was only about 2 inches when I got him but grew really fast. I'm thinking of getting an albino one soon.

Hey, I finally named mine, and it's named Uma. Uma is now three and a half inches. She eats like crazy! I just fed her a huge goldfish to speed her growth up more, even though they usually have parasites. Your frog is cute, I like it. I'll let you know how big mine is in a while to see if mine has grown or not.

Hehe. I like the name Uma. Here is another pic of mine.

wow, 15 years old for a pacman frog is considered old, you must take care of him very well! I read they live to 20 with very good care, but the average lifespan is more like 7 years old. Uma, my albino is not even half a year and now at three inches, I thought she was three and a half a month ago but it was an optical illusion. If you get your camera back to work I'd like to see what a 15 year old pacman frog looks like! Here's my best pic of mine...

Wow, I need to upload some new pics. Here are some cool ones I took while my frog was shedding. "Kraid" has grown about an inch since these pics, he is now 4x4 inches. I feed him superworms, crickets, nightcrawlers, and adult mice. I sometimes feed him fish.

seagreenbeetle Aug 16, 2005 11:32 PM

well, my pac man looks rather like yours, only mine (a boy, he has never gotten bigger four inches across) has more darker blotches that are smaller.

yes, i try to take good care of lister, but i didnt really when i first got him, looking back. i thought i was. i fed him mice every time, to many, and didnt clean his cage often enough, and didnt use dechlorinator. a few years later i did some seriouse reading about all sorts of animals, and found out i was doing pretty much everything wrong! needless to say, i got everything fixed and now he is one happy camper.
these days for his dinner he gets either a hissing cockroach, a few baitworms, feeder goldfish, or meybe occasionaly a fuzzy.

lately one of his eyes has been getting a little cloudyness- iv been watching it since i noticed a few weeks ago. i have started to keep his tank exeptionally clean, and to put a little aquarium salt in his water (a little less than that reccomended for tropical fish). any other suggestions? i dont really have the money to take him to the vet, and i would rather try to knock out the problem now, but if worst comes to worst, i would.

I'm not an expert on pacman frog health, but it sounds like maybe a bacterial infection of some sort. I would wait and if it gets really bad then you would only have one other choice to go to a herp vet or something. Could you get a picture of it maybe? Good luck with the little guy
