You've gotten some really cute pics of her. Congrats on a productive photo session
I love my pacman's name! Although it's an embarrassing moniker when she's letting crickets crawl over her head! :0

My frog usually eats them right away, but once one of the crickets crawled onto her leg and its pinchers began closing over and over on my frogs leg. It didn't take long before my frog kicked herleg quickly to get the cricket off, but it kind of worried me seeing that crickets can hurt your frog. I have heard stories about crickets eating larger frogs to death because they couldn't reach to get them off thier backs. This is why I never leave crickets in out of my sight, like overnight or anything.

I don't tend to feed many crix to my pacman. Mr. Toad will only eat crickets, but Buffy will eat anything presented to her, especially if it's on tongs as she's "tongs trained" I try to keep her diet varied, but she gets mostly night crawlers & super worms. I never feed her fish & have only given her pinkies once, after she was sick & lost weight, to help her regain.

Hey, I've named my pacman frog Uma. She was just hiding before because she came out today. I have a question. Uma never goes into her water dish. I keep it super humid in there and the bed-a-beast substrate is always a little moist all over, but not soaking. Will she be okay if she doesn't use her dish? Also, where can I buy safe
tongs for feeding her? I'd also like to tong train her, because everytime she bites at a cricket she gulps down tons of substrate.

Uma's a good name

I think it's fine to keep the soil either damp or relatively dry, whichever you prefer. Just watch for signs of dehydration if you're keeping it on the dry side. Buffy rarely uses her dish, really only getting in when she wants to shed. I actually put her in it more often than she goes in it herself. I put her in it every 1-2 weeks because she's let herself seriously dehydrate before (they just aren't that bright, I think) so I worry. I also squirt her down w/ dechlorinated water about once a week.

I buy the yellow, plastic Zoo Med tongs at Petco. They're about $3 & will last around 6-8 months of regular use before losing their "springy-ness". The only problem w/ tongs is that Buffy sees them & often aims for the tongs, rather than the prey (that's how strongly she associates them with food. My skink is the same way). But I love them for feeding!

I also use a plastic deli cup lid, lightly sprayed with non-stick vegetable oil spray as a "plate". I place it in front of her, at which point she lunges at the lid & tries to eat it! I then place her worms or whatever on the lid & she can get it off w/o her tongue sticking to the lid or getting full of dirt.
