the best way to tell would be to ask the breeder what the parents of the offspring are. visually it can be tough to tell as they get get older. and most likely you wont be able to do the "paper bag trick" with ultra's and regular hypo's,

offspring of the pairings will vary depending on what the breeding used to get those results. i have posted this before so i apologize if you already checked it out.

ultramel x amel = all ultramel & amel hatchlings.
ultra x amel = amels, ultra's, ultramels

Not quite... You got the first one right... but botched the second. There are actually three interesting combos.

Ultramel X Amel = Ultramels and Amels
Ultra X Amel = Ultramels
Ultramel X Ultramel = Ultras, Ultramels, Amels

Another interesting combo to note:
Ultramel X Normal = Normals het either Amel OR Ultra (but not both)

Ultra X Normal het Amel = Normals het ultra, Ultramels.

The trick is to write Normals as NN, Ultras as UU, Ultramels as AU, and Amels as AA.

UU X AU = AU, UU.
AU X AU = AA, UU, AU
UU X AA = AU
AU X NN = NA, NU
UU X NA = NU, AU

(NU = Normal het ultra, NA = Normal het amel.)

trick is I don't use punnett squares.LO..I just figure out in my head what should be what...

........ok......I got ultramels het lavender .......the eyes look dark in alot of light....they look ruby in other light at times........

........normals and hypo looking (ultra het lav)...

ok..they are ultramel het lav......is the amel gene still going to come out in the next generations?....

.guess I'll find out one way or another.......sad.I want to sell out half the corns.and I have to keep some of these ultramels and het ultras/lav now to see what an ultra-lav looks like.(please anyone got pics?.Serpen Co?.....)....
.......didn't want to keep any.....but they don't sell anyways.....guess I'll keep about 9 total?........

.........thanx ....good luck.........

Lav het Amel X Ultra...

LLNA X NNUU = LNNU, LNAU

The results are Normals het lav, ultra and Ultramels het lav.
