Female U. Phantasticus Swollen Neck Sides?

psylynt Aug 10, 2005 06:29 PM

I've got a male & female pair. I just noticed the sides of her neck are bulging. If I lightly touch them they're soft & not hard. Seems it's a fluid build up of some kind. She's been eating & besides the neck looks big (for a satanic)& healthy.

Has anyone seen these symptoms before? If so, did you know what caused it? Can someone recommend a possible treatement?

Thanks

Ben Guillaume

is it whitish in color? if so it is likely calcium sacs that store calcium for egg production.

Or could be massive tumors!!

Nah mine has em too, they are calcium sacs most definately.

agreed...they're calcium sacs. mine are building them up at this time too, in satanics they dont tend to be whitish as they do in many of the larger species.

What a great thing to hear. Otherwise she looks fat & healthy as she could be... Sooo, maybe I should be checking for eggs in the near future.

My pair of cresteds have laid 4 fertile eggs about 2 mo. ago!!! I've got them a nice large deli cup ready to hatch!

GECKOS ROCK!

Thanks all!

So... does this mean I should be expecting eggs @ some point soon, or do they females just do this when they reach adulthood?

doesnt really mean anything special at all. you cant expect eggs even if everything seems to be just right, just have to sit back and enjoy them in their lil houses. the breeding part is something that's coincidental in many cases, although i cant say it's any less enjoyable.
