I am a 30 year old male from Northern California. I am a Loan Production Manager for a large bank. I keep a little bit of everything: 16 various Boas, nothing too fancy alot of nice normals, 5 Thayeri Kings, a pair of Pueblan milks, a trio of Hognose, a pair of het albino Tangerine Honduran Milks and a couple of Crotalus species....oh and I almost forgot the Leopard Tortoise and Sulcata....I think that's it. I don't have a website but I would like turn my hobby into something more in the future, maybe a retail shop someday. I just got back into reptiles last July and wish I had never left.

johnnyblazekfd Aug 11, 2005 12:11 AM

I have a female that looks alot like that pattern wise but just a little more pink overall. very pretty normal you got there.

There is a considerable range in price. Some of it has to do with the parents to the Leopards, as Leopard X Leopard breeding usually results in a more drastic appearance.
Hans had four price groups for his '05 babies; $1750, $1900, $2200, and $2400. Mine was $1900. A little more than the cheap stuff, but the ones that are $2200 and up blow mine away!

I am 52 and live in Savannah GA. I currently have 74 snakes here. I am impatiently waiting for gravid ones to lay. Most of my collection is Rainbow Boas. I have 6 different subspecies of Rainbows. My Boa Constrictors are Surinams. The money I make from breeding goes back into the hobby. I am a retired army pilot and I work parttime as a nurse.

she enjoyed knocking over all my gecko cages and killing the escapees...despite the room being shut up, she always seemed to find a way in...She didn't stay with me for long - gave her back to the breeder and lost all the money I invested on her...she was too aggressive.
Yours sure is pretty.

34 years old, male, married 9yrs, three girls(3,3(twins) and 8), one son(5), three dogs (pitbull, staffordshire, boxer), one cat (bengal), 10 boas and 5 balls. I have a BS in CS and I am currently employed as a computer Security Analyst, but feel more comfortable calling myself a unix admin. I live in Melbourne, FL..... yeah I know, you can hate me all weekend long next weekend . I had a few snakes growing up but didn't catch the fever until recently when my son wanted a ball python. Well, one turned into a few more and ...... might as well breed them. I don't plan on making a living at it, not opposed to it, just don't plan on it; I would be happy if the hobby would allow me to buy whatever I am interested in and break even . . . eventually.

Any Skydivers out there?

Cheers,
Al

ok! lol

I am a 29 yr old female living in Las Vegas, NV. I currently work full time as a rep for Farmers Insurance. If all goes well, I will be starting a part time job as a poop-cleaner/helper for a local entertainment group (magic shows with reptiles). I am a hobbiest who sometimes breeds, money goes right back into the hobby. I originally started out with dreams of being a big breeder but reality taught me otherwise. I am happy having a nice collection I can easily manage. I may or may not be single very soon. Anyways here is my list.. I currently have 12 snakes. I got my first snake (adoption) in 1998. My focus is the pair up everyone over the next year or 2 and then I will think about adding some new stuff (maybe sooner if Ruben's perfect anery has some nice babies)! I will eventually add a few more boa morphs, more GTPs and an albino blood python and *maybe* BHP.
I currently have:
2.5 colombian BCI:
1.0 '98 het albino (kahl) proven
1.0 '03 albino (an absoluteconstrictor creation!)
0.1 '98 albino (kahl) proven
0.1 '89 normal proven
0.1 '98 high pink normal
0.1 '01 salmon
0.1 '01 lateral striped normal

others:
1.0 '01 Hog Isle BCi
0.1 '01 Amazon Tree Boa
1.0 '01 GTP lereh type
0.1 '03 GTP jayapura type
0.1 normal corn snake het snow motley

In my free time I still work on websites (keeps up my skills and I enjoy helping people with them!), beat my boys in video games, skateboarding (no wait, that is the kids that like that, I am the man sitting closest to the door holding their current medical insurance information and $50 x 2 for their deductibles) and with the time I should be sleeping I write science fiction (though not as much as my agent would like, ugh!). All the animals are listed below except for an unnamed bearded dragon I am picking up on the way home. Oh! and did I mention I am terrified of snakes?

I remember a thread like this when I first found this website about 5-6 years ago..

I live in Miami, FLA. I'm a 36 year old SAS programmer.

I just managed to breed my first pair of hog island boas. I had 17 neonates without a single slug!

Right now I'm completely obsessed with Silverbacks. I've got 01.01 Hog Island Boas, 01.01 Bolivian Silverbacks, & 1.0 Dumerils. I just sold my pair of Guyanans, and want to concentrate on Amarali. I've had a lot of other snakes but I've been pairing down to what I really like most.

I'm in search of another female neonate Silverback. If anyone knows of any please let me know. Thanks....tc

Currently, I am waiting on this to happen again.....

29/Male/Phila area/biology teacher. I just had my first baby and it has changed my life drastically. I am thinking of cutting back on some of my collection so I can spend more time as a dad than as a snake cleaner (I mean keeper lol).

I'm now starting to have snakes near or at breeding age. I will never make a profit on my animals but maybe someday hope to break even. I've been collecting snakes for over 10 years and I've proudly raised all of my snakes from hatchlings/babies.

My name is Joe Rollo, otherwise known as Bci Joe, Joey, Juice, Rollo, or 'The Big Boss'.. lol

I will be 29 years old this Monday, August 15th, and will probably celebrate it with overtime at the office! LOL

I was born, raised and live in Brooklyn, New York.

I run a Performance Management / Capacity Analysis team for R&D Systems Programming/Systems Administration Department here at Bloomberg.

Bloomberg is the media company the Mayor of NY owns... well it is much more than just media! Closing in on 10,000 employess and offices worldwide.

I live at home alone, for nearly 10 years now, and have been at Bloomberg for 6 years.

I did live in Miami, Fl for a few years, couldn't really take it at the time, and flew back for the interview to Bloomberg.

My passion is Colombian Boas, and i've also found a sweet spot for these Centrals lately...

I currently have between 125 - 150 snakes. I would say 10-12 are Ball Pythons, the rest are Boas. Tons of Boaphile cages... love them!

I had a wonderful girlfriend not too long ago, and we planned to get married, quit out jobs, and expand the reptile business, but things change, and sometimes people don't.. lol

I still plan to quit work and expand the business sooner or later..

No more wedding plans for anytime soon...

I love music and I love animals. I'll not go into work to save an injured bird I find near my bus stop. I would adopt a limbless dog because I feel bad, and because I would think he deserves so much better, especially for fighting and making it so far.

I've had just about every animal I could get my hands on at one point or another, but now just have time for the snakes.

Some recent aquisitions....

03 Leopard Boa female received last night from Jeremy Stone. AWESOME ANIMAL!!!!!

7.5' long Nicaraguan Boa I received last night from JNJ Reptiles. This animal was a rescue with lots of scars and weighing nothing.. After receiving her and looking her over, she is also awesome and you would never think she had such a rough past.

I also caught a Cockatiel two weeks ago!
NY has been overrun with Quaker Parakeets lately... they are building HUGE nests on all light posts, electrical posts, and they are overwhelming the trees and parks in the area.
I was bike riding through a park, listening and watching them, when i almost ran over the cockatiel!
I scared him and he flew up about 12 feet into a tree.
I tried calling him and such, trying not to scare him, but nothing. I approached closer, and finally was next to the tree and noticed he wasn't scared.
I started to pull down the branches so to get him closer to me, then finally jumped up and was able to grab the bottom of him.
He had a sharp beak abd put a few holes in my fingers! but he is beautiful and healthy and made my cousin very happy.
My cousin caught one last year, and after it became his favorite pet and the house mascot, it escaped, and the family was heart broken. Great to see people smile.

Sory for the rant... it's Friday.. been a looong, rough week.

Hope to see you all in Daytona!

Take care, Joe Rollo - Bci Joe

To tell you the truth, my Boaphiles make it very easy and efficient.
Add to that cage liners, similar to what DCL sells, then having a good feeding method.. I feed f/t.
With years of experience, you find out new things and discover new and better ways to do things. You live and learn.

But I think the caging is a major plus... when I had individual, different, home made cages, etc., I couldn't keep more than 15-20 before it was a bit much.

But it kind of is the joke of all my friends....
What are you doing this weekend? Cleaning snake sh!t?

It's quite a committment!

Thanks again, and Happy early Birthday as well!

My assistants: Stephanie and the kids (Alex & Roxy)

And me, complete with goofy Indiana Jones vacation hat, on a rare venture out from behind the camera atop Half Dome overlooking Yosemite Valley. Roxy climbed the cables to the top with me - she's a stud!

I am 39 years old and live in Pasadena, California. I currently have about 120 snakes, of which 25 are womas, and the rest are boas - a variety of morphs and hets. At my REAL job I am a chemical engineer and work for a large environmental consulting firm. I work largely on soil and groundwater investigations, and the design, construction and operation of soil and groundwater treatment systems. If I had it all to do over, I'd be a professional baseball player. As it is, I'm relegated to playing shortstop in the co-ed beer-drinker's softball league! Cheers,
