some thoughts i had

ineedabath May 17, 2003 07:16 PM

I was getting mad all the times my uro would take a piece of lettuce, and then drag it on the sand, and get it all sandy. So, I decided it would be better and "sand-free" if I hung it from the top of the cage, but practically touching the ground, and it wouldnt be able to get sandy this way.

Another thing: I was wondering if uros like water... I dont mean drinking water, but like swimming water, cause my friend has an iguana and he lets it swim. I was just wondering if uros like to swim, even though they are accustomed to dry places like the desert.

Thanks.

uro's HATE water....or at least mine hate it. you have to have the water very very hot....like to our touch...we'd think wow, that water is hot. then they don't mind as much....but mine hate the water. So, no...don't take them swimming. Plus if yoiu do get them wet at all....make sure to dry them off REALLY well, cause they can get tail rot...from excess moisture tapped in the whorls of their tails
