incubation: Day#47

boastud Jul 16, 2003 11:37 PM

Well about a week ago my 4 eggs started collapsing, and there was accesive condinsation on the lid of the box. I know that is normal, the condinsation is gone, and a couple look like they are pretty dehydrated by the egg wrickle. The humidity hasn't changed at all. Is it normal? do they usually dent that early?

Yeah this is normal. Sometimes the eggs look so bad befor they hatch you would think they are not good at all. Just stick it out and soon you will have some awesome little babies.

My last clutch collapsed at/around day 42-43, and pipped out at day 50.

I wouldnt worry, but get ready for them to start poking thier noodles out in the next few days.

P.S. Congrats!!

What temps did you keep? My eggs began denting on day 41. Some are really collapsed but most are only somewhat dented. It's day 50 today. I'm getting pretty excited.

I incubated at 89.4 They dented around day 39 and released lots of moisture on the lid, which is normal, but i never thought they dent this much, i have 2 that look like they are in dire need of humidity! I am getting excited. Hopefully i will have pastels in less than a week!!!!
