wow theres alot of computer lingo in that post that i can understand some of it. just some advice, slow down and type like you are trying to rush through it. no one is going to take their time to answer you when you werent willing to take your time to type the questing. just my opinion i guess

I do get into the habbit of rushing things, I will slow things down from now on so you can understand me.

I was hoping that somebody can help me with detirmening the sex of my Ornate Nile Montior, Trigol(the conqurer). I have been reading this forum for moths now, and have noticed that SHvar is the exprt here with arfican monitors here so I was wondring if he/she (or other people) could help me figure out wich sex my montior is.

Also is monitor breeding the same as gekko breding or bearded dragon breeding? I have expreince with these lizards so I dont think it would be too dificult if monitors are the same. I see baby niles all the time so I think they must be easy to bred.

My gut instink tells me that Trigol(the conquerer) is a girl. I just have a feeling about it. In this picture you can see a pinkish/purple thing sticking out of Trigols cloaka. I was wondering could this be its penis and that I am wrong and Trigol is a male? But don't females also have penises that come out from time to time? I am probally wrong because after all what do I know, I mostly know hots hahaha. This is my first adventure into monitor lizads.

I am sorry that my last post was frustrateng to read and I hope this one is better. Let me know what you think about my Ornate Nile's sex and any recomendations for breeding them. Fortgive me, my spelling and grammar is not the best.

Take it easy,
Chris (aka vemonousnakekpr)

I would say the monitor looks female but then again I only have experiance with 1 male nile and he was quite a bit bigger then your girl. Very pretty monitor in either case.

For reasons that are obvious.
good day

I could give it a try at sexing it but no guarrantees without seeing it in person.
By the way those babies you see are WC cheap imports when someone actually breeds niles, bosc, etc its known about as it rarely ever happens.
These are very big monitors that require alot of space.
Consider that that is also an ornatus, not a nile, they are supposedly able to cross, but I do know someone who does breed ornates, his males are usually around 6.5ft long and females are alot shorter and smaller, Rob Faust, a great guy with African varanids.
Maybe a few more pictures from tail base, close ups on the head etc.

Female, also by the head shape and size. Im guessing its about 3.5-4ft or so long?
Hemipenes are shaped differently on males.
