Hide Spots......

RaffertyReptiles Jul 16, 2003 11:42 PM

i have a hide spot avaible for my dragon but he never uses it he pretty much camps out in has basking spot all day and like sometime moves to the cool side of the cage. my cage mainly consists of branches and sticks, he usually stays up on the sticks and only comes down the ground to eat. is it bad that my dragon doesn't hide?

My beardie didn't use his hiding log until he decided to start brumating. Some beardies hide a lot, especially when stressed, ill or in a new environment. And some beardies hardly ever hide. You could take it as a compliment... he feels so comfortable in your presense that he doesn't feel the need to hide.

Beautiful Dragons

Hi there!
I only have one beardie that prefers to sleep with her head deep in her bran substrate. Otherwise, the others bask, and sleep in the open.
I believe it has something to do with their natural instinct to hide from preditors. As mentioned in the previous post, be flattered that your beardie trusts you.
