something in the egg

mets38 Aug 11, 2005 10:48 PM

I have a clutch of 6 eggs. Two have emerged and in one of the eggs there was some sort of mass still in it. The other was empty. I have seen pictures of hatchlings with the yolk still attatched and this did not look like that. Can anyone tell me if that is normal and what it is? Thanks.

it's probably just the yolk mass....if the baby isn't hooked to it anymore it won't matter now.......it might be a thinner baby if it didn't absorb the yolk......should still be ok

Thank you so much! The hatchling seems fine and its tummy looks full, I just wondered because the rest didn't have anything like that. Thanks again!!
