three days ago the snake ate, i dont know if you can still see the lump in the photos, but it has moved but is still there, does it take a while for them to digest thier prey, the tanks warm side is at 85 degrees, also i have read you can cut a slit in the mouse to help with digestion, is this suggested or not?

If temps are good there is no reason to 'help' with digestion. If it has eaten just three days ago give it another 4-5 days and feed it again. Power feeding is not only not necessary, it can prove detrimental to the snakes health.

ok im considering power feeding, i was worried if the food set there in the snakes stomach it could go bad or something?
that was my concern, i dont want him/her to get sick from the food digesting to long.
i know that sounds crazy, im just wondering if thats possible.
it is a possibility, but as long as the temps are good it shouldn't happen. It takes 4-5 days for the food item to digest enough that you can't see it anymore. Don't worry so much, you'll be grey before yer 30

i worry about every thing, and im 36
i went back i guess the "lump" has gone down some, i just dont want to mess up....
If your temps are correct and you feed the appropriate size food item then your snake should digest it to the point where you shouldn't see the lump after 24-36 hours. Your hot side is a bit low you may want to try to raise the temperature a little there should be a spot at least 90*. Also do you have a good thermometer/hygrometer so that you get your temps and humidity right? Do you have belly heat - that will also aid in digestion. What size food item did you give it and was it live f/t?

yes i have a thermometer, and a hygrometer, and a uth.....
i feed what was told to me to be a weanling mouse, but was almost the size of an adult, looked to me like a small adult. and im feeding frozen
Maybe he's just a slow digester. Tho you may want to bump his temps up slightly. Are you sure you got it thawed all the way - three days seems awefully long for it not to have digested. Could be nothing but slow digestion.

you made me think to a few days ago when i fed him/her, the snake went out of the heated area for the whole day, that could be a reason i guess, but i am going to bump up the temps
