Do GTP's get along with other snakes?

reptileforest Aug 12, 2005 07:53 PM

I am not experienced on GTP's as I have never owned one. I do have a 2 year old ball python and a 2 year old boa constrictor. They get along with each other very well, no stress, no hissing, nothing. just as if they didn't exist for each other. I am looking into adding a GTP baby to my collection. After quarantine, I wonder if the baby will be ok to hang out with the rest of the gang? I got a 7 foot fake tree in my house that my ball python and boa owns... Will my GTP neonate be ok among them from time to time? anyone had the same experience or really knows the right answer?

thanks folks

Ball pythons & Boas have completely different environmental requirements than those of Green Trees. My advise is, first & foremost, don't mix species of ANY sort. Secondly, continue doing your homework. I have a feeling you have limited experience with reptiles. Go slowly & continue asking questions before making a move you'll regret later. No, absolutely, do not put your GTP in that situation.
Good Luck!

No way.

1. A GTP neonate might look like a tasty treat to the boa and bp.

2. BP's thrive in a drier climate.

3. You've lucked out so far...key word: Luck.

You really need to read up on GTPs. If you cannot afford Greg Maxwell's book at least visit his site and educate yourself? The URL is: http://www.finegtps.com/
