Full-Grown, Adult Size (Diameter) of Jungle Carpet Python? Prey Size for Adults?

Dan6971 Aug 12, 2005 09:21 PM

Hi Everyone...

I was wondering if someone could tell me the diameter (in inches), not the circumference, of a full-grown, adult Jungle Carpet Python...? Laying it flat on a table, how high off the table would it be, in inches?

Now, in comparison, how wide (circumference) would a full-grown, adult corn snake be?

What size prey would each one eat, as a full-grown, adult?

Hello Dan,

An adult female JCP would be about as big around as a soda can, and a male would be a little smaller. That's average. They eat large rats.

Most adult Corn Snakes get to be about as big around as a broom stick -- some females may be a little larger. And they feed on adult mice or small rats.

Sorry, those are the best comparisons I could think of this early in the morning!

Thanks Will! If anyone would know - you would know. I trust you - great comparisons.

What would both eat, as adults?

Thanks again!

this is Eden, my coastal carpet. im aware that there are slight differences between the sizings of a coastal and a jungle, but i thought this might help you get some idea of how big a carpet can get.
