I just got my second aegyptius yesterday, and man is he awsome. Hes 7 years old and close to 18 inches long. He weighs in a 2 lbs.. Unforutantely he is somewhat agressive. He hisses and tail whips alot, and i managed to get bit by him. Whenever i walk by his cage he flips his tail at me too. Ive never had to "tame" one of my uros so any help on taming him would be great. Oh and by the way i now have an adult pair...so im hoping for eggs in the spring.

Give him some time to settle in. Let him get used to his new surroundings and get used to you. Offer him a bit (no pun intended) of food from your fingers.
Give us a report in a couple of weeks and we'll go from there.

I agree, let him settle in for a little bit. Try offering him some green beans. Once he starts taking them from your hand, he will hopefully see you as a food source and not as a threat.

My egyptian Dog was untamed when I got him. He drew blood on me by whipping me with his tail a couple of times. Once he started taking the green beans from my hand, he started letting me pet him on the head and then eventually letting me pick him up (this took about a month). Once you could do this, let him roam around in your room and sit there with him so he could get used to you and him being in the same open environment.
