SPOILED!!!

ForestTime Aug 12, 2005 11:07 PM

I was looking at Forest the other night & wondered if he would like a blanky to snuggle in. I think I'd read that IgDaddy's ig liked to get in their covers in their bed, like it was a cave thing.....dunno.....anyway....I covered Forest up & he LOVED it.

Ever since I cover him at night & my fiance laughs at the looks of him. Geesh, spoiled, his own bed, 2 pillows & a blanky now.

When I die, I wanna come back as my lizard, LOL.

Yes, she does. We use baby receiving blankets, because they don't catch on her spikes and scales as much. They are also thinner, and doesn't press down on her spikes as much. This can lead to spikes curled over. Every night, my wife turns on a night light, turns off the overhead light in her bedroom, tucks Iggi in bed with her blankets (she needs 2 now, because she is so long), makes sure she has her pink starfish for a pillow, then she gives her a goodnight kiss. If your ig gets too hot, it will probably do what ours does, she takes her long back toes, and catches the blanket, and pulls it down. It's cute to watch her do this.

OMG, that is the cutest thing I have ever seen! Awwwwwwwwwwww. She is SOOOOOOOOOO cute. Two spoiled babies. And I like the receiving blanket idea. We'll have to try that.

Thanks. We have raised her like a daughter, and she acts like it. Never biting or tail-whipping. Here she is in her basking spot, with another of her toys.

LOL, I'm so glad to hear Iggy too, doesn't tail whip. I was beginning to think Forest was the only lizard who didn't.

Forest doesn't bite & has never even raised his tail. He did gap his mouth at me yeasterday when I took him outside & put him on his chair. When I bent over to set him down my long braid (hair is long) swung down & slapped Forest up side the head & he gapped his mouth at me like I had done it on purpose, LOL. Grouch!

Forest is spoiled as is Iggy & I just love your stories & pics. Favorite is of your wife hugging her....awwwww....SO cute!

Thanks. I just want people to realize you don't have to have an iguana that chases you around the house, or that you have to wait until they are sleeping to sneak in their cage to clean it. These are some of the things I have read about on iguana forums. If you raise them with love, they will love you in return.

Sunshine is the same way. She was raised by her former owners without a cage, so when i took her we took on the responsibility to never put her in an enclosure (she was put in one once and she tore her face up something serious.) SO, she has her usual basking spot and 'bed'. That includes her stuffy and pillows. p.s i alway enjoy pics of Forest, keep em comming!

shes potty trained. SHe always goes to the bathroom in the bathroom. Usually right in front of the toilet. Clean up is easy. A bit of disinfectant and ALOT of papertowels.
People tend to underestimate the intelligence of these animals. I havent had a problem with her pooping anywhere else since she has learned where the bathrooom was!

She goes potty either in the tub in the morning, when we give her a bath, or in the afternoon, when we take her outside, for sunshine and exercise.
