Introducing went much better today!

Shawdow Aug 12, 2005 11:22 PM

I introduced my female blackthroat to my male blackthroat again today in my patio so it was a neutral zone and It was much better than yesterdays episode. Chomp kepy trying to mount my female (kila) she kept running away but they did get along today. There was no agessive display and they tolerated each other. Kila is actually not as small as I though. Shes only about 3-4 inches shorter than chomp but chomp is much more bulkier and stocky. Here are some pics of the introduction today...

Each one of those tiles are 12inches X 12inches just to give you a size comparison. Enjoy

Well, my male has a great attitude. He doesnt really hiss ever and rarely does he tail whip me. He hates to be carried though cause he always thinks hes going to fall. But he has a great attitude tho. I will set him on my lap and he'll chill there for a couple minutes until he finds something that has yet to be explored. Hes very curious and not scared of anything. Its awesome. My female on the hand, shes still flighty. Shes very jumpy and still a shy eater. Of course I just got her so it is to be expected.

Thats cool, Apollo is still defensive, but I'm guessing thats because he's still small and new to me. I've only had him since this May and he's only alittle over 2 1/2 ft.

Looking very good. They are now in the same cage and there doing good so far. She hasnt eaten to much though. Yesterday she ate two chicks and today she only ate one. Chomp ate 1 big quail and 4 chicks...Oh well, she'll eat more eventually...
