NERD LINE LEMONS.....

Ask to see the parents, because you will have the animal as an adult too and will want to enjoy it just as much then. It really depends on your preference, but I've always admired ASF out of south Florida. Andre is a great guy and his animals seem to have really bright yellows and a more reduced pattern. But you can't lose with Graziani, Bell, NERD, or even many smaller breeders.

Good luck!

I have to agree, Andre at ASF is a great guy to deal with. I have bought from him and I will again. He has all the lines (I think) and specializes in pastels, he has some real sweet animals. I am including a pic of a male I picked up from him....Give him a call, he will be glad to help.

Other than a nice Lemon or Stonewashed, they all are pretty much the same thing. I've also seen a few nice Grazianis that look like Lemons, so maybe the Lemon isn't all that unique after all. It all depends on the individual animal. Some are nice. Some are not so nice. The line doesn't really matter. Buy the nicest Pastel you can afford. Make nice babies.

I would base my decision on the animal in question rather than what line it came from. To me the line of the pastel doesn't really mean that much (there are a few exceptions). I've seen some pastels that look really good as well as some that look very average all advertised as the same line. I've hatched out clutches where the pastels within the clutch look completely different, in terms of color/brightness, from each other. Like I said, I'd base my decision on how nice the animal in question looks rather than the line.

Having just purchased my first Pastel, I know exactly where you are coming from. The Blondes & Lemons seem to be somewhat identifiable. I winder if there are visual differences between the other lines...more blushing, lighter eyes, etc. I narrowed my search to three individual animals, and from that point I based my decision on customer service of the breeder. EVERYONE I spoke with was nice and professional - EVERYONE!!!! It just happened that Dale from Countryside Constrictors went just a bit further in his efforts to answer my questions and be available to me. Here's the Pastel I purchased from him:
